Welcome to the Plough and Harrow public house situated in Monknash in the Vale of Glamorgan, South Wales.

The Plough and Harrow has hardly changed in the many hundreds of years that it has been standing. The building itself dates back to the fourteenth century,  with many original features remaining including the ceiling support beams hauled from the beach from wrecked ships. The Plough is a, “proper pub with real ale, real food and real people” and is regularly voted one of the best  pubs in Wales.

The Plough has had a reputation for a warm welcoming atmosphere, the finest real ales and excellent freshly-cooked food. It’s the stand out pub in the area. People visit us from all parts of the world to see its charm. It’s customary in the bar to share the larger tables so if there are spare seats, feel free to use them- that’s the way it is at The Plough.

We are surrounded by beautiful countryside with many walks around the Vale of Glamorgan and the Heritage Coast. The Plough garden is a great place to refresh after a walk or cycle ride. We’re famous for our open log fires too, so we’re a great place to enjoy a winter evening.

With an ever-changing menu of both food and ales there’s always a reason to visit the the Plough –  “The kind of pub you wish were your local.”
